Qantas frequent flyer points are available with many credit card providers. Qantas itself does not offer a credit card. It simply offers a partnership with credit card providers so that you can take advantage of accumulating points as you use your credit card.
Almost every major bank including ANZ, Westpac, Commonwealth Bank, Suncorp and NAB issue Qantas labelled cards. The cards are available as Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Club, each with their own range of features, benefits and fees.
Interest rates applicable to each card will be determined by the credit provider and will be available to you on application. You should also be aware that annual fees apply to most cards and different interest rates may apply to cash advances. One other thing to consider carefully is the rate at which point accumulate, most will be one point for every dollar spent but some programs offer 1.25 points for every dollar spent.
Rates and fees are changing all the time so it is best to do some comparisons before you make your final decision.
The Qantas frequent Flyer Credit Card program offers you an extraordinary array of benefits. They have over 400 partners around the world through which you redeem products and services from the points you have accrued.
The program lets you start out with a Bronze membership and as you accumulate points you progress through Silver, Gold and finally Platinum levels each of which allow you an increasing variety of benefits. You can use your points to redeem your rewards at the Qantas online shop or you can also use the points to purchase flights or flight upgrades.
You can increase the number of points you accrue when shopping with your credit card at any of the 400+ partners with which Qantas has partnered. These partners offer special promotions at various times which can allow you to accumulate extra points rapidly, and the same time take advantage of their products. You can also check your progress online at any time.
Remember that you don’t have to fly with Qantas all the time either! Qantas has partnership arrangements with 24 other airlines so you are not limited in how you can fly or accumulate points.
A great feature of this program is that you can accumulate points with each partner as well as the frequent flyer program meaning that each time you use your credit card, you not only accumulate flyer points, but also points with specific partners! That way you get twice the credit.
Think of how easy it will be, knowing that you can use your card at Woolworth or Coles to buy your weekly groceries and rack up frequent flyer credit card points at the same time. It doesn’t take long for points to add up!
After you have enough points you can go on saving them until you are able to take free flights, get free flight upgrades, or simply to purchase luxury items.
It just doesn’t get any better than this and it makes sense to sign up for free and start accumulating points straight away.
